How is it made

Plastic bottles are collected at a recycling plant. At a processing plant they are washed while the caps and bottoms are discarded. Grinders cut the bottles into small chips which are then further purified. PET chips are melted and forced through molds called extruders to create filaments about the size of human hair. The material then packed into large bales which are send to yarn spinning plant for further processing. The fiber bales are blended for uniformity and spun into yarn. The resulting yarns are dyed into specification. The finished yarn is used to produced all the Envirelon commercial carpets.
